Accessing the New Epilogue

The latest update in Baldur's Gate 3, Patch 5, has brought exciting new features, including a much-anticipated Epilogue. To access this new content, players need to complete the pier scene at the end of the game. If you’ve already finished the game, you might need to load a save point just before this scene. The new Epilogue unlocks immediately after the completion of the pier scene.

Critical Decision Point

To unlock the Epilogue, players must confront the Netherbrain. You need to load a save file before, during, or just after this encounter. Crucially, the Netherbrain must be destroyed to access the Epilogue. Choosing to dominate the Netherbrain will end the game without triggering the Epilogue.

The New Epilogue: A Rich Finale

The Epilogue unfolds six months after the final encounter with the Netherbrain. It features a grand feast hosted by Wither, inviting the player and their party. This segment fills many of the narrative gaps left by the original ending, providing a well-rounded conclusion.

Companion Endings

Patch 5’s Epilogue is shaped by the player’s choices throughout the game, leading to various outcomes for each companion. For instance:
– Astarion can become an adventurer or a vampire ascendant.
– Gale might end up as a professor at Blackstaff Academy or even as a God of Ambition.
– Shadowheart’s fate ranges from a simple farmer to the Mother Superior of a cloister.

The list continues with unique paths for Lae’zel, Wyll, Karlach, Halsin, Jaheira, Minthara, and Minsc, each reflecting the rich tapestry of choices and consequences that Baldur's Gate 3 offers.
